Leeds United favourite Stuart Dallas spotted in new role after Elland Road exit

Stuart Dallas has been spotted as part of the Northern Ireland coaching set-up after his Leeds United exit last season.

The Northern Irish international called time on his playing career midway through last season, hung up his boots and left Elland Road in a playing capacity following the end of his contract last season.

Although some had suggested Dallas could be offered a new role with the Whites, Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Smyth has suggested that he appears to have taken a role with his national side for the clash with Luxembourg at least.

Writing on X on Thursday (5 September) Smyth who was at the game said: “Stuart Dallas part of the coaching set-up tonight by the looks of it.”

What is Stuart Dallas doing now after Leeds United exit?

Few players have been through the wringer over the last few years quite like Dallas has. The former Leeds United man was forced to call time on his playing career prematurely as he never managed to recover from the injury he picked up at Manchester City.

While the majority of Whites supporters would have loved to see him in a new role at Elland Road this season, few will begrudge him the opportunity to work with the Northern Irish side in some capacity instead.

He may not have played a part on the pitch in his final few years at Leeds, but he was still understood to be a major character in the dressing room, which was part of the reason he saw out his contract with the club.

With Dallas and Liam Cooper moving on this summer, it is now down to a new generation of Leeds leaders to step up and fill that leadership void left in Farke’s squad.

Although the likes of Ethan Ampadu, Ilan Meslier and Pascal Struijk may not be as old or experienced as their predecessors, so far they have shown that they are more than capable of stepping up and into the role.
