Leeds United fans will certainly cringe at potential link up between Mateusz Klich and Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney
Leeds United fans will be uncomfortable by the fact that Mateusz Klich may end up linking up with Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney.
According to Guardian journalist Tom Bogert, DC United are closing in on a January move for the Poland international.
The MLS outfit are managed by Rooney, who in his playing days, was heavily disliked by the Elland Road faithful.
Bogert wrote on Twitter, “D.C. United are finalizing a deal to sign Poland midfielder Mateusz Klich from Leeds United per sources. Not 100% done yet, but close.
“Klich, 32, wouldn’t be a DP. Klich has 42 caps with Poland. Joined Leeds in 2018, has 192 apps.”
Should Klich leave Leeds, it’s already going to be an emotional moment for fans as they’ve watched and love him over the past few seasons.
He was one of Marcelo Bielsa’s mainstays and played a key role in getting Leeds promoted from the Championship to the Premier League.
In many ways, he was viewed as the one who exemplified the heart and soul of what it meant to represent Leeds United.
To see him leave for a side managed by Rooney will certainly be frustrating as the hate for Manchester United exists.
Even though the Englishman is no longer at the Old Trafford outfit, he’s one of their greatest players of all time and it’ll be awkward to see this transpire.
That said, we wish Klich all the best and we’re sure he’ll kill it in the MLS as he’ll join as one of the best and most talented players in the league.
In other Leeds United, 36 scouts recently showed up to watch multiple Leeds sensations with as many as four exits on the cards in the January transfer window.
