Leeds United fans will be excited by what Calvert-Lewin said immediately after win vs Wolves

Leeds fans have plenty to be optimistic about following their well-deserved 3-1 victory at Wolves on Saturday.

Summer signings Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor all scored their first Leeds goals to help their side to victory at Molineux.

Calvert-Lewin scored a trademark header to equalise and was a constant threat to the Wolves’ defence.

The striker’s all-action performance was a throwback to his peak when he was constantly banging in goals for Everton and a regular in the England squad.

Leeds fans will be hoping that their striker can remain fit and keep performing to this level throughout the season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s post-match comments suggest he’s ready to deliver the goods for Leeds

Calvert-Lewin was accused of “bullying” the Wolves defenders as he rose to dispatch the header that turned the game around for Leeds.

It was seemingly a non-threatening cross from Jayden Bogle that set up the chance, but Calvert-Lewin made something out of nothing to leap highest and score the equaliser.

It was a goal that few strikers in the league could score, but Leeds fans will be excited by what Calvert-Lewin had to say about it after the game.

Speaking to the BBC, he said: “Strikers feed off goals. It gives you confidence. For me today, getting that goal, it’s nice to get the first one for the club, and I’ll look to build on it.”

Calvert-Lewin also mentioned that turning around and pointing to the name on his shirt wasn’t a message to his critics in the media, but rather a playful jab to the Wolves fans.

It seems the striker isn’t too interested in what anyone outside of Leeds has to say about his transfer.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s form could be key to Leeds thriving in Premier League

Calvert-Lewin added a new dimension to Leeds’ attack against Wolves.

As well as scoring the equalising goal, he;

It was a classic striker’s performance, which highlighted why Daniel Farke was so keen to bring him to Elland Road, doing something that the likes of Joel Piroe cannot.

Leeds don’t have another striker who can do all that at such a high level. So, Farke’s next task is to do everything he can to ensure that Calvert-Lewin remains fit and can maintain this level of performance throughout the season.

If he can do that, it could be an exciting season ahead for Leeds.
