Leeds United fans will be buzzing as Brenden Aaronson wants to achieve rare feat

Brenden Aaronson is targetting 30 goals and assists this season and it will be music to Leeds United fans’ ears.

After an interview with the 24-year-old, GOAL reported via their website on Tuesday [12 November] that he has a note pinned above his gaming setup in his apartment in England that reads: “15 goals, 15 assists.”

The United States international has put up the note as a reminder for himself as he eyes a career-best season with Leeds.

Leeds United fans will be buzzing after hearing Brenden Aaronson’s target

Scoring and assisting 15 goals each regardless of which competitions a player is playing in is no small feat and Aaronson, who has four goals and an assist this term, will know that too.

10 players breached the 15-goal mark in the Championship last season, while only two grabbed 15 assists. More importantly, no one did both.

Emiliano Buendia was the last player to notch 15 goals and as many assists in the English second-tier, doing so for Norwich in the 2020-21 season.

Even if Aaronson’s target is not restricted to the Championship, it is still a lofty aim for someone whose finishing has left much to be desired and has only scored five goals and provided four assists for Leeds United in 56 games so far.

Nevertheless, the Whites faithful will still be buzzing to see the attacker’s target as it is a sign of the high standards he has set for himself as he tries to earn promotion with the Elland Road outfit.

It appeared he had burnt bridges with the fans when he joined Union Berlin on loan after the club’s relegation last year. However, he is doing a good job at making amends this season.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have been tipped to make a “big time” move for this player wanted by other clubs.
