Leeds fans step up Ben White campaign as banner pictured at the AMEX Stadium

The #FreeBenWhite movement started by Leeds United fans is really starting to gather momentum.

Brighton boss Graham Potter has insisted that the young defender is part of his plans in the Premier League next season, but that isn’t stopping Leeds.

White remains Marcelo Bielsa’s number-one target at Elland Road over the summer, but a deal is proving tricky.

Sky Sports have reported that Leeds have had two bids rejected for White already this summer, but they won’t stop there.

The latest of those bids was a £22million offer, an amount of money that would smash the current transfer record in West Yorkshire.

Leeds are still on the chase, and the Elland Road faithful are helping the club in every way they can. The #FreeBenWhite has been trending on Twitter, but that has now flowed onto the streets.

@BielsaBall2018 shared a picture on his personal Twitter account this week, with a banner outside the AMEX Stadium in Brighton.

Now, although we don’t condone these long trips during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is easy to see the light side of this banner appearing on the south coast.

Andrea Radrizzani has started interacting with fans that use the #FreeBenWhite and even liked a tweet from someone asking for an update on Leeds’ pursuit.

Our MOT Super Fans believed it would take an offer of closer to £30million in order for the Whites to sign the defender, and we would be inclined to agree.

As the campaign gathers speed, we have our fingers crossed that White is announced as a Leeds player sooner rather than later.
