Leeds United fans are getting a taste of how the other half live – and they’re absolutely loving it.

After spending £40m in the space of one weekend on Rodrigo and Robin Koch, with the former smashing the old transfer record, Leeds are ready to do it all again.

The next big player on the transfer hit list is Udinese midfielder Rodrigo de Paul and he could come with a £30m-£35m price tag.

Sky reporter Fabrizio Romano said his fee would be around £31.2m, although a later report has said that Udinese want £35.8m [Gazzetta dello Sport].

That’s no problem for Leeds, according to Athletic journalist Phil Hay.

He said, “financially they can do it and De Paul is keen to go to a club where he’ll be a main player”.

Some fans are worried about how much Leeds are spending but they shouldn’t be.

Leeds chief Angus Kinnear said earlier this summer that Leeds needed to spend “£75m-£100m just to compete” and added that Leeds would look to bring in 3-4 players.

They’ve bought in two for £40m and that leaves £35m-£60m in the kitty to bring in another two.

Anyone that says Leeds are doing a Fulham or Aston Villa are getting it a bit wrong too – both of these sides bought enough players to field a whole new starting XI.

Leeds are looking to keep the nucleus of their squad and add quality.

It means that Leeds fans can relax and enjoy the spending spree – and that’s what these supporters are doing…
