Leeds United fans jeer Max Wober and Brenden Aaronson v Valencia

Leeds United fans booed Max Wober and Brenden Aaronson after they came on for Leeds United against Valencia, according to Graham Smyth.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist reported on 3 August that the duo were jeered as they entered the fray in Saturday’s friendly encounter.

There was “some applause” to welcome them on but Smyth noted there were some jeers from the Elland Road crowd during a match the Whites won 2-1.

Daniel Farke’s side performed well and were able to come away with a positive win against Valencia in their final pre-season clash of the summer.

The Whites begin their Championship campaign in a week with a home game against newly promoted Portsmouth.

The friendly at Elland Road allowed fans to get a better look at the squad ahead of the season but they weren’t all best pleased with what they saw.

Boos for Wober and Aaronson won’t come as a surprise to most given the way they departed the club on loan so soon after relegation from the Premier League.

The likes of Diego Llorente and Rasmus Kristensen were in a similar boat and have since left the Whites once again.

It appears that the duo who came on against Valencia are going to be staying in the Championship this season and clearly have work to do to win over the full support of the fan base..

There is no doubt that Wober and Aaronson could have a positive impact next season and fans may change their tune if that becomes the case.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have been backed to win the race for an “exciting” ace who could snub a top-flight move.
