Leeds United fan leaves Gabby Agbonlahor and Jamie O’Hara stunned live on talkSPORT after Manchester City loss
A Leeds United fan left Gabby Agbonlahor and Jamie O’Hara stunned after calling into talkSPORT to claim the 2-1 defeat to Manchester City was as good as a point in the club’s fight against relegation.
Despite bringing Sam Allardyce into the dugout as manager this earlier this week, the Whites weren’t able to claim a result against the league leaders at the Etihad Stadium (6 May).
The loss leaves Leeds United one place above the Premier League relegation zone, due to a superior goal difference over Nottingham Forest, with three games of their season remaining.

After the full-time whistle, a talkSPORT caller claimed that the single-goal defeat stopped the rot and that it was as good as a point due to Leeds’ goal difference not taking a battering.
“What do you mean stopping the rot,” O’Hara fired back.
“You could have lost about 8-1,” Agbonlahor added.
“So you’re happy with today’s performance, the lack of getting two or three passes together, Haaland could have had four [goals], you’re happy with that?”
Damage limitation
The Leeds United fan was a little over the top in his judgment of the result against Manchester City, but it was certainly pleasing not to see a 4, 5, or 6 on the scoreline for once.
Although Erling Haaland missed a host of gilt-edged chances, and Gundogan fired his penalty into the upright of Joel Robles’ goal, it is all about damage limitation at this point.
Goal difference could well come into play on the final day of the season, and only losing to a rampant City by a single goal could be decisive.
Leeds currently has a goal difference of -25, which is seven better than Nottingham Forest’s -32 and the exact same as Everton’s.
If Allardyce’s side had been pumped 5-1 or so, it would have left a huge dent in the club’s goal difference with just three games of the season remaining.
As it was, Leeds thankfully managed to escape from the Etihad Stadium without too much punishment.
