Super-agent Kia Joorabchian makes Leeds transfer claim as Jim White comments on 'huge' deal

Super-agent Kia Joorabchian has said that Leeds United fans have a lot to look forward to under the stewardship of Andrea Radrizzani and Marcelo Bielsa.

He also said that Radrizzani has the sort of contacts that could see Edinson Cavani move to Leeds.

Joorabchian was responding on talkSPORT after host Jim White said that Leeds fans were dreaming of signing Cavani.

White said that would be a “huge” deal for Leeds after owner Andrea Radrizzani said he was considering a move for the striker.

Joorabchian said that Radrizzani has close links with some of Cavani’s most trusted people and that if anyone could pull off a deal like that it would be them.

Talking on the White & Sawyer Show (talkSPORT, Tuesday, 11am), White said, “Leeds United fans tell me they’re dreaming of Edinson Cavani, and they’re dreaming of Cavani because of Andrea Radrizzani. That would be huge.”

Joorabchian said, “The Leeds owner has very good links in Italy and with a couple of the guys that work closely with Cavani.

“If anyone was to pull something like that off, they could.

“Bielsa is so highly regarded, he was one of the teachers of Tevez. For many, many years I followed him and Leeds fans have a lot to look forward to with those guys at the helm. They’re football people.”

We’ve been talking up Radrizzani’s stewardship at Leeds but it’s exciting to hear someone like Joorabchian say the same.

Bielsa’s stock is arguably as high now as it’s been through his whole career and Leeds are being linked with players of the calibre of Cavani, while Bielsa is being touted as the next manager of Barcelona.

It’s a big step up from the Championship and Joorabchian’s words have added another level of intrigue to this summer’s transfer window.

Cavani would have been huge but it looks like he’s going to sign with Benfica.

However, we’re not convinced that it’s the sort of signing that Bielsa would want.

Leeds seem to be looking at more progressive moves and younger talents who could explode onto the world’s stage, like Jonathan David.

The Gent chairman has said that Leeds have put an offer in for their attacker, with Lille also having a strong interest.

However, with Leeds firmly on the map of agents like Joorabchian, it does seem like we’ve got a lot to look forward to.
