The Athletic on 18 June also added that the Whites are willing to sign the young midfielder on loan or on a permanent deal.
Pep Guardiola doesn’t want to lose him, but Leeds have a great opportunity to sign him, provided they can use him as a part of the deal for Phillips.

The 19-year-old has been described by the newspaper as an “exciting” talent. He was named the Premier League 2 player of the year last season, but Southampton can be a big threat here.
The young midfielder scored 18 goals and provided seven assists for the club across 23 appearances last season, which reflects what a talent he is. He can grow into a top-class player in the future, if he is properly developed.
The fact that he can play in multiple positions may have attracted Jesse Marsch. He can operate as an attacking midfielder and also as a deep-lying playmaker.
