Leeds United eye loan to buy option move for Weston McKennie in January
Leeds United are one of the clubs showing keen interest in signing Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie on loan with a buy option in the summer, as reported by 90min.
The Old Lady have offered a number of Premier League clubs the opportunity to sign the 24-year-old, who has been a regular at the club since joining permanently from Schalke in 2020.
However, the USA midfielder has never really impressed in Turin, and Juve are keen to move him on this January.
Arsenal, Newcastle and Aston Villa are also in the race to sign the midfielder this month.
The Whites have secured two signings already, but they are looking to make more additions before the window closes.
Leeds are leaving no stone unturned in bolstering the squad, and Jesse Marsch has been backed again in the transfer market.
Victor Orta has done a terrific job once again. The club identified their targets and they moved quickly, similar to what they did in the summer.
The Whites signed a versatile left-back in Max Wober from Red Bull Salzburg while bolstering their forward line by landing Georginio Rutter from Hoffenheim on a club-record deal.
Now, they are looking to add depth in their midfield region.
Marsch has options in midfield and as such, they could have waited until next summer to find the right kind of player. But it seems, they are keen to land at least one midfielder after Mateusz Klich left the club this month to join DC United.
The Whites are also reportedly interested in Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi, but Mckennie won’t be a bad option either.
He is a box-to-box midfielder who has got the best years ahead of him. It will be interesting if Leeds can secure a deal for him this month.
