Leeds United eye George Hall as next January signing after Georginio Rutter development
Leeds United seem keen to make Birmingham midfielder George Hall their next signing as Georginio Rutter closes in on a move to Elland Road, according to the Daily Mail.
The Yorkshire side were finalising details on the 20-year-old’s club-record move to Elland Road on Wednesday evening (11 January). An announcement is expected on Thursday (12 January) with Rutter set to sign a five-year contract (Daily Mail print edition, 12 January, pg 72).
Jesse Marsch has already signed RB Salzburg captain Max Wober and it’s understood England under-19 midfielder Hall is also on the club’s radar.
There appears to be no messing around from Leeds in the January window. Marsch’s squad needed fine-tuning and the club have acted quickly to fix the problem areas. A left back was required and it appears Wober will be the man to fill in when needed, and Rutter looks to be the versatile forward the American was after.
With Mateusz Klich departing the club another central midfielder could also be on the agenda for Leeds and Hall would certainly fit the bill as a longer-term project. He would join the promising group of youngsters the club have built and a move to West Yorkshire would be an attractive proposition for the 18-year-old.
Hall has attracted plenty of interest over the past two transfer windows and he could well command a significant transfer fee should Leeds wish to move for the midfielder.
This is certainly one to keep an eye on for the Elland Road faithful over the next few weeks as the January window begins to really heat up.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are keen on signing this Wolves player in January.
