Leeds United exits over amid Willy Gnonto, Luis Sinisterra stand-offs as Angus Kinnear issues incoming transfer update
Departures from Leeds United are now at an end this summer following the sale of Tyler Adams to Bournemouth, according to Leeds United Supporters’ Trust.
The trust reported via their website on 18 August from a meeting they had with club CEO Angus Kinnear the day before, where he reportedly communicated that “a number of incoming players are anticipated” before the deadline with “possibly one further outgoing”, which was understood to mean the American midfielder.
Adams passed his Cherries medical and signed a five-year deal on Friday night [Fabrizio Romano, 18 August] to join the long list of players who have left this summer.

Willy Gnonto submitted a written transfer request the same evening [The Athletic], ahead of the Whites’ clash with West Brom, as he and Luis Sinisterra train separately from the first time after holding themselves out of games in search of moves away.
Coming the other way Daniel Farke has got four signings into his squad so far – Ethan Ampadu, Karl Darlow, Sam Byram and Joe Rodon – but Kinnear suggests that number will now be added to before the window shuts on 1 September.
Finally
It is about time the Whites hierarchy gave some indication of what was going on at the club, and in the circumstances this is what supporters would likely want to hear.
It may not have been possible to give a particularly encouraging update on the situation in recent weeks, but while Farke has taken it on the chin and given his perspective the silence from above has given a slightly chaotic impression.
In light of the atmosphere around the club in the final months of the Andrea Radrizzani-Victor Orta era it might have been an obvious priority for the 49ers and Kinnear to avoid that sort of feeling again, but better late than never he has now given an update of sorts.

Should the next fortnight go according to what he has indicated then the Whites might wrestle back some stability for a promotion push, as the fight shown in the 1-1 draw with West Brom suggested that Farke can get something going with a fleshed out squad.
It would appear that the club is serious about keeping Sinisterra and Gnonto at Elland Road, which would be a boost if they were on the pitch, but surely there would be a number of steps to get past before that can happen even if they remain past the deadline.
Gnonto especially is the target of ire from the stands in every Leeds United game he misses at the moment, and Farke has banished the pair of attacking stars from the main group at Thorp Arch.
Whatever happens longer term with the two wide men the manager clearly needs recruits in to start contributing right away, so if exits are now done full attention can apparently be turned to arrivals.
In other Leeds United news, another new club has entered the race to sign one of the wantaway stars with contact made on Friday.
