Leeds United exit update emerges live from Bournemouth amid Luis Sinisterra talks after Patson Daka to leave Leicester City – Sky Sports

Bournemouth are “close to one player” and “could be two” as they are still in talks with Leeds United while they close in on a deal with Leicester, according to Mark McAdam.

The Sky Sports journalist shared an update live from the south coast club on Sky Sports News on Friday night (1 September) to say Patson Daka is “very close to being officially agreed” from the Foxes, and that Luis Sinisterra is still on the cards to follow him from Elland Road as “talks continue”.

The Whites and the Cherries are reportedly continuing negotiations which “could be significant” over a possible deal for the Colombian winger, after an agreement between the two sides was reported and then disputed earlier on deadline day.

McAdam said (6.39pm): “Andoni Iraola is getting close to signing a new striker on deadline day and they are not finished there.

“Because the talks continue between Bournemouth and Leeds over a potential deal for Luis Sinisterra as well, which could be significant.

“Bournemouth close to one player, could be two.”

Scourge

Bournemouth have been terrorising Leeds United for most of the summer and it looks like they aren’t finished yet, while they have also decided to pick off a key attacker from one of the Whites’ Championship rivals.

There might have been some hopes that a move for Daka from the King Power could have reduced the chances that Sinisterra was bound for the Vitality Stadium.

But if the clubs are still in talks that likely means there is both still plenty of intent at the Premier League side, and an acknowledgement that it might be necessary from Elland Road.

The situation appears to be messy thanks to the dispute over whether the Whites winger has a relegation release clause that can be triggered, with numerous former teammates already having used theirs to leave but the rest reported to have expired last month [Phil Hay, 1 September].

If Leeds United are engaging with Bournemouth over this late approach it probably means one of two things.

Either it is a deal that is set to be permanent, now or at the end of a loan, which contains enough money that they have to consider it, or there is still a loan exit clause they aren’t convinced is off the table.

Daniel Farke may have enough in his squad to lose the 24-year-old with Willy Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville both quality options, but it would still be a major disappointment to lose such a talented player at the 11th hour.

It looks like it will go right down to the wire and the outcome is, as yet, not entirely clear.

In other Leeds United news, another Whites forward has been subject to multiple exit offers as the deadline approaches and the club have reacted.
