Leeds United: Exit-bound Gaby Ruiz speaks out about allegedly 'fake' Victor Orta interview
Gaby Ruiz has blasted the “100% fake” interview involving former Leeds United director of football Victor Orta.
Ruiz is set to leave Elland Road as the fallout from Orta’s exit continues (Yorkshire Evening Post, 10 May).
He has taken exception to a post on social media from Graham Smyth, who quoted part of the interview, which is on Gianluca Di Marzio’s website.
“As a member of his work staff and 100% Orta’s trusted person I positively know this interview is 100% fake,” Ruiz wrote on Twitter.
“Please erase it from the net asap, Victor has not given any interview to anyone recently, I can’t understand how Di Marzio can be also mentioned in this piece.”

As if Leeds needed more drama behind the scenes at Elland Road right now, this latest saga involving Ruiz will continue to provide more off-the-field distractions.
The fallout involving the likes of Orta and Javi Gracia looks set to keep going, and will definitely only get worse should the Whites be relegated from the Premier League this season.
Orta’s allies Ruiz and Alberto Cordero are set to leave the club, but they aren’t the first to do so in recent times and they certainly won’t be the last.
A potential relegation will, of course, have a major impact on takeover talks, but there is also the issue of players coming and going, as well as who will be in the dugout for the next campaign.
It’s all a bit unnecessary right now as all associated with the West Yorkshire outfit should be focused on one thing and one thing only, and that is saving the Whites from the drop.
In other Leeds United news, one Whites ace may be the first “high-profile” Elland Road exit this summer, with talks underway and a bid on the cards for the player.
