Leeds United earmark three manager candidates to replace Marcelo Bielsa if he leaves in summer – report

Leeds United have earmarked three managers to replace Marcelo Bielsa should he leave in the upcoming summer, according to The Telegraph.

The newspaper have reported on their website that Carlos Corberan, Jesse Marsch and Ernesto Valverde are candidates at Elland Road.

Victor Orta is said to have made no contact as of yet but often speaks to managers about players as part of his homework.

Leeds are said to want Bielsa to stay, but given his one-year rolling contracts at the club, that is still uncertain.

El Loco often makes his decision once the season is over, meaning the Whites will need to be prepared for every eventuality.

Angus Kinnear and Orta have often shared that negotiations are always on the table with Bielsa, who has demands to add to each contract.

Brilliant.

Leeds are happy with Bielsa and would like him to stay.

That means that all of the eggs are in his basket as we enter the final months of the season in the Premier League.

Marsch and Valverde are big names within management, and Corberan is well known at the club from his time working as a coach.

The Spaniard would be able to use the exact same tactics after working under Bielsa, so that would be intriguing, regardless of his little-to-no experience.

If Bielsa stayed, everyone at Elland Road would be delighted, but we all know how unpredictable he can be from his history within the game.
