Wilfried Gnonto hint shared as Luis Sinisterra ruled out – Leeds United early team news v Bournemouth

Luis Sinisterra will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury he sustained for Leeds United on Tuesday night in the 1-1 draw with Leicester at Elland Road.

Javi Gracia confirmed the crushing blow in his pre-match press conference ahead of Leeds’ must-win trip to Bournemouth on Sunday (30 April).

It’s a huge blow for Leeds as Sinisterra scored the club’s only goal in their draw with the Foxes.

Phil Hay relayed the news on Twitter on Friday (28 April) with Gracia saying: “Luis will be out for the rest of the season.”

Wilfried Gnonto is a potential replacement for Sinisterra.

Speaking on the Italy ace, Gracia was quoted by LeedsLive as saying: “You ask me about Willy many times and I always say the same. He’s an exceptional player with an amazing character. The last game I decided to play with Cree but I am sure in the next games Willy will have chances to show.”

Must win

There are no ifs and buts about it – Leeds need to win this game.

Bournemouth have done very well in recent weeks under the charge of Gary O’Neil, meaning that they are effectively safe from being relegated from the Premier League.

The Cherries have won six out of their last 11 Premier League matches, including picking up nine points from the last 12 available to shoot themselves up the table.

As it stands, the south coast club is 14th on 36 points so they don’t have too much to play for really and you cannot call this game the six-pointer that everyone thought it would have been a few weeks back.

That’s kind of good news for Leeds but it depends on how you look at it.

Bournemouth look a better side now they don’t have as much pressure on them whereas with Leeds, they’re everything but free of pressure.

Gracia’s men have been woeful for weeks with their draw against Leicester on Tuesday proceeding awful defeats to Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Fulham.

Leicester, Nottingham Forest and Everton are breathing down our necks.

A draw will not do – Leeds have to win.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have confirmed they want a new version of one under-fire senior player in an official update.
