Leeds United director of football Victor Orta in talks with five transfer targets

Leeds United director of football Victor Orta is currently in talks with potential summer transfer targets, according to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth.

The Elland Road outfit are keen on signing a left-back ahead of next season and have been linked with a couple of names already.

Orta has recently spoken with North Macedonian international Gjanni Alioski, but Leeds will look to bring in another option whether he leaves or not, and YEP reporter Smyth claims Orta spoke with a left-back at the weekend.

Smyth added: “The player in question has, we’re told, the right attitude to play for Marcelo Bielsa and, on the strength of the conversation, moved into a strong position with regards to a possible Elland Road move.”

Quality signings should be expected

Leeds’ recruitment style is top-notch, with quality always stressed over quantity.

Going by Graham Smyth’s report, it appears that we are bringing in just three players this summer, and that is enough.

Landing a left-back, holding midfielder and forward would be perfect, and we cannot wait to see who these signings are.

Leeds often check in and register a hint of interest in players ahead of subsequent transfer windows, and it is a strategy that will yield lots of transfer successes going forward.

Despite finishing ninth in the Premier League and playing no European football next term, the Bielsa factor is expected to sway transfer targets this summer.

The Argentine’s style of play and ability to bring out the best in his charges attract players, and we are expecting some fine additions in the coming weeks.

Leeds will be looking to improve on their ninth-placed finish next term, and the outcome of this summer’s transfer activities would have a huge say on the campaign.

Orta is one of the best sporting directors in the English top-flight and is surely going to deliver the goods again.

In other Leeds news, Sky Sports pundit has urged the club to sign a centre-forward.
