Diego Llorente shares Twitter message after completing first 90 minutes for Leeds

Leeds United beat Southampton on Tuesday and few will be happier than Diego Llorente, who posted a message on social media on Wednesday.

The Spaniard has endured a tough season with the vast majority spent on the treatment table.

He started for just the second time this season against Southampton, and finally completed his first 90 minutes for the club.

After the match Llorente took to social media to express delight at his own accomplishment as well as the 3-0 result.

Huge boost for Leeds

We are delighted for the Spaniard as he has had to remain very patient this season and Marcelo Bielsa said he was worried about his mental state.

It must have been horrible spending so much time out injured after making an £18million move last summer.

He would have been eager to pay back his price tag and prove himself in the Premier League, and maybe now he will finally get his chance.

The 27-year-old barely put a foot wrong against Southampton.

Referee Andre Marriner initially penalised him for fouling Nathan Tella before VAR judged the player to have dived.

Aside from that Llorente made one tackle and two interceptions (WhoScored) and looked solid alongside Liam Cooper.

A run of games now will do him the world good in terms of building both his fitness and his confidence.

He clearly has the right attitude to succeed at Leeds too, as his message suggests he has the fight and determination to never give up.

With Robin Koch not too far away from a comeback we could finally get to see our two summer signings partner each other at the back.
