Leeds United desperate to retain Tyler Adams services amid Premier League interest – Phil Hay
Leeds United are reportedly very keen on retaining the services of United States international midfielder Tyler Adams despite relegation.
According to the Athletic’s Phil Hay, he is one name they believe can play a key role in getting them back to the Premier League.
There is understood to be at least one team in the English top flight keen on securing the services of the 24-year-old.

He wrote on 1 June, “One of the players Leeds desperately want to retain. They think a midfielder with his character and tenacity is tailor-made to help lead a club out of the Championship.
“But at least one Premier League club is tracking him and it won’t be a shock if someone tries to force Leeds’ hand.”
Keep him at all costs
Leeds can negotiate a deal with Adams that if they don’t get promoted the first time asking, he can leave for a pre-determined price.
He’s the United States captain so one season in the second tier is not going to damage his chances of making it to their home World Cup.
He was arguably Leeds’ best player until his injury and the club will understandably want him to stay for another year, at least.

His decision will depend on a number of factors that will include who the next manager is, whether the takeover is happening and also the players that come in and go out.
The squad will certainly be weaker but if they’re at the level where they can target an 80+ points finish, then it should be a good campaign for them.
As of now, things are still at a very initial stage and a lot of twists can be expected in the coming weeks.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that a Whites senior player is now set to leave the club at a discounted fee post relegation and will not be signing a new contract.
