Leeds United ‘delighted’ with Crysencio Summerville situation as Premier League clubs set to target January move
Premier League teams will be “crying out” to sign Crysencio Summerville in January but Leeds United have “absolutely no interest” in selling, according to Dean Jones.
Speaking to GiveMeSport on 6 November the former Eurosport journalist said that “desperate” teams struggling in the top flight will want the Dutch winger midseason but the Whites are set to work hard to put them off the trail.
The 22-year-old has six goals and four assists in the Championship this season, with five strikes and three assists coming in the past six games, leaving the club “delighted” that he has remained at Elland Road so far.

Jones said: “They’re delighted this one has worked out how it has because he’s proved so important. I think that the one thing for Leeds to be careful of here is that the teams down the bottom end of the Premier League will be crying out for a guy who can open any defence up and just create a spark.
“So, players like Summerville will be in demand in January for some desperate teams. They’ll do everything they can to put off any potential buyers because they’ve got absolutely no interest in selling him.”
Hands off
On current form it would be more of a surprise for clubs to not be sniffing around Summerville, so it will hardly be unexpected among the Elland Road hierarchy.
They have learnt more than most in the past year that it is impossible to say anything with certainty in a transfer window, so there will be an element of danger for Daniel Farke until February arrives.
But after going nowhere during a summer window where his teammates were queuing up to go elsewhere, and not through a lack of offers, there will be more confidence this time around he will stay again.

If he keeps racking up goals and assists then the bracket of team that might come knocking will widen and there is presumably a point at which his head would be turned.
But as Farke’s side look increasingly good value to get back to the Premier League under their own steam it is likely going to be a better bet to stay at Leeds United, and potentially pass the likes of Luis Sinisterra and Tyler Adams’ Bournemouth side on the way down.
The Whites will no doubt be tested again in the New Year, but with Summerville having apparently hit it off with Farke in a major way there is a decent element of security for the German at this stage.
In other Leeds United news, Adam Pope is concerned about an “issue” with another of the Whites’ outstanding performers recently.
