Leeds United definitely scouting Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk

Leeds United are definitely keeping close tabs on Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk, as per journalist Dean Jones.

The former Bleacher Report journalist told Give Me Sport that the Whites have been scouting him closely during the international break and that he would be an exciting signing for the club.

The 21-year-old is one of the most in-demand players in world football at the moment, and several Premier League have already registered an interest in him.

90 Min reported on September 22 that a host of clubs were in Glasgow on Wednesday to watch Mudryk as Ukraine took on Scotland.

Shakhtar Donetsk sporting director Darijo Srna revealed on 15 September that the club rejected an offer of €30 million (£25.9m) from Everton.

“This would be a really exciting signing for somebody like Leeds, they’re definitely scouting him closely during the international break,” said Jones to Give Me Sport.

Target for January?

There is no doubt that a host of clubs will be trying their luck to sign Mudryk during the January transfer window.

The likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Wolves, Newcastle United and West Ham have also scouted the attacker during the international break, and Leeds have a strong competition on their hands to sign him.

Mark Douglas wrote for INews on 26 September that Newcastle United are prepared to launch a £50m bid for the youngster, which would put them at an advantage over other rivals.

The youngster was impressive last season where he managed seven assists in 11 games before Shakhtar’s campaign was cut short due to the Russian invasion.

He has impressed heavily in the Champions League this season where his performances against RB Leipzig and Celtic haven’t gone unnoticed. Shakhtar have picked up four points from the possible six so far, and he has played a big part in it with a four-goal contribution.

It seems, the Whites are also taking keen interest in him, but they will need to come up with a massive offer to lure him to move to Elland Road.
