Leeds defender Stuart Dallas reacts to Phil Jagielka red card for Sheffield United
Leeds United have been given a big rest until their next Premier League clash against West Ham on Monday evening.
It has come at the perfect time for the Whites, with Marcelo Bielsa having numerous injury worries to contend with at Elland Road.
There has been another round of fixtures to watch before the trip to the London Stadium, and it appears as though Sheffield United’s victory over Aston Villa caught the eye.
Phil Jagielka was sent off at Bramall Lane in the 1-0 win, but it was a contentious decision that was eventually given by VAR, rather than the officials.
Stuart Dallas has taken to his personal Twitter account to react to the decision, and it was safe to say that players didn’t understand that decision.
“Strange decision,” he wrote. “Never a red.”
The state of officiating appears to be getting worst and worst.
Where it becomes a big problem is when the players start to recognise that, and there could be some uproar caused by them on and off the field.
Leeds have been on the end of some outrageous calls by VAR this season, look no further than the Patrick Bamford ‘goal’ against Crystal Palace.
This one was particularly shocking, though.
There is no chance that Jagielka was the last man, and it is coming to the stage where officiating in the Premier League will have to be put under review.
Dallas has noticed, let’s hope it doesn’t happen to us again this season.
