Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen surely on edge after Fabrizio Romano transfer update

Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen could now be worrying about his game time as it looks like Cody Drameh may well stay at Elland Road.

The 21-year-old looked like he was on his way out of the club and the Whites had even taken the contract extension off the table for him.

Clubs like Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund were circling around him and still seem to hold an interest in securing his services.

Issuing an update about his future, Fabrizio Romano said, via Twitter, “Leeds are now fighting to keep Cody Drameh at the club after Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund interest.

“Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are also interested – but Jesse Marsch will push again to keep Cody Drameh by suggesting playing opportunities. Loan, not an option.”

This clearly means that he’s going to be given more game time which is not something that will sit well with Kristensen.

He was brought in over the summer to be the first choice right-back and that’s how most of the season has gone with Luke Ayling unavailable.

If Drameh shares minutes with him, there’s every chance he could do better than the Dane who hasn’t not been at his best all season.

It could even mean Ayling leaving the club in the summer or whenever his contract expires, which probably is the right thing to do, given his age.

However, we do not know how the squad dynamics will be affected but Kristensen certainly needs to up his game or he’ll end up losing his spot in the team.
