Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen slammed for what he did on loan at Roma

Roberto Pruzzo believes that the omission of Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen is the right decision taken by Roma and manager Jose Mourinho.

The Denmark international moved to the Italian capital on loan in the summer and has endured a tough time adapting to life there.

Recently, Roma opted not to include him in their Europa League group stage squad despite him being a first team player.

Italy legend Pruzzo told Radio Radio Mattino 104.5, transcribed by Forza Roma,“I wasn’t surprised to not see him on the list. His performances are below all expectations. It seems like an appropriate choice to me. Let’s hope these players can recover to help pit. Roma can only have a reaction on the pitch, we have to wait.”

Not surprising

Kristensen had a number of games for Leeds where it seemed like Luke Ayling would’ve done far better in that role.

It’s evident that despite his age and lack of form, the Englishman was the proven first choice and that just shows how good a player he is.

It surely would’ve come as a surprise to many Whites fans that Roma, a side with aspirations to win trophies and qualify for the Champions League, would want a player like Kristensen in their eleven.

Thus far, his move to Roma has not worked out and it remains to be seen if he can turn things around throughout the course of the season.

Even if Leeds get promoted, they must not reintegrate him back into the side and look to sell him permanently and perhaps look to secure the services of Djed Spence who’s looking to be the real deal.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites tabled multiple enquiries to sign a multi-million international winger ahead of the transfer deadline.
