Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen sends message to Enock Mwepu after recent Brighton announcement

Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen has sent a message to Brighton ace Enock Mwepu after he announced his retirement from football.

The midfielder announced on 10 October that he will retire from the sport as he was advised by medical professionals that it will not be safe for him to continue playing.

Kristensen, who was his teammate at Red Bull Salzburg, shared his message on his Instagram story and wrote, “All the best my friend.”

Class

It’s never good to see a player announce their premature retirement from the game, especially if it’s down to severe medical conditions.

Mwepu was a class act both on and off the pitch and the game will certainly miss a player of his calibre.

It’s good to see Kristensen sending a message and we’re expecting the footballing to pour in with their support and best wishes for the Zambian.

He only signed for Brighton last summer and did go on to make over 20 appearances for them before seeing his career cut short.

Mwepu also featured against Leeds earlier this season when he came off the bench to replace Leandro Trossard, who’s had an incredible season.

Leeds ended up losing that game 1-0 on the south coast which was their first loss of the campaign – having won two of their first three and drawing the other one.

In other Leeds United news, a Sky Sports pundit has delivered Jesse Marsch’s “sack” verdict after what he heard in October.
