Leeds United defender Luke Ayling in tears after West Ham United loss

Leeds United defender Luke Ayling was spotted in tears as West Ham secured a 3-1 victory at the London Stadium on Sunday, 21 May.

According to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Joe Donnohue, he approached the travelling fans and applauded them as well.

Joel Robles also sat beside the goal posts and was dejected after the concession of three goals.

Via Twitter, Donnohue wrote, “Luke Ayling visibly emotional as he goes to applaud the away fans. Joel Robles sat beside his goalposts, head bowed. Supporters have been streaming out since the third goal. Feels a lot like the final whistle at Bournemouth.”

Shocking

Ayling was among the worst players on the pitch and the club’s performances on and off the pitch this season, merits relegation.

It all began after they sacked Marcelo Bielsa without backing him in the summer or January transfer windows only to bring in Jesse Marsch.

Once that failed, they brought in Javi Gracia and even the Spaniard could not put a stop to the mess at Elland Road.

Leeds United

Big Sam, someone known for his expertise in avoiding relegation, has managed to secure just one point from a possible nine since taking charge.

It remains to be seen what special he has in store to get the job done against Spurs and even that might not be enough if Everton get the desired result v Bournemouth.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that an international player at Elland Road has no place at the club next season and a summer transfer is on the cards.
