Leeds United defender Junior Firpo provides injury update ahead of Tottenham trip

Leeds United have suffered numerous injury blows this term but could soon be handed a boost ahead of their game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be chasing after their third win of the Premier League campaign when they visit North London on Sunday, and Junior Firpo has suggested he could be available.

The Spanish left-back has missed Leeds last five games, but it seems he could be available for selection this weekend after taking to his personal Instagram account to drop a one-word update.

Boost?

The 25-year-old has featured in six league games for the Whites since joining from Barcelona for £12.8million [Sky Sports] in the summer, and Bielsa has had to deploy Stuart Dallas at left-back in his absence.

In doing so, Leeds have missed the attacking influence of the versatile midfielder who weighed in with eight league goals and two assists playing largely in midfield last season.

Bielsa could do with Firpo for the Spurs trip so as to have Dallas back in midfield, but it is not exactly known if the Spaniard is now fully fit.

His social media update hints that he could be, though, and that will be great news.

With Christmas approaching, Leeds need all their players available ahead of the busy schedule.

They need to steer clear of the relegation zone, and having their injured stars back will come in very handy right now.

Firpo is returning soon, and hopefully, Patrick Bamford, Robin Koch and Luke Ayling can all get back on the pitch in the coming weeks to help get the side’s campaign back on track.

In other Leeds United news, Whites fans will be buzzing after reliable journo provided major injury update.
