Leeds United defender Diego Llorente may be out for long time after injury in Roma v Atalanta

Leeds United defender Diego Llorente could reportedly be out for a while after he suffered an injury in the last 24 hours.

According to Il Messaggero [25 April], he had to be taken off due to a muscle problem and will now be examined but there’s a good chance that he could be out for a “long time”.

The Serie A outfit want to turn his loan into a permanent deal but there are differences in the price and Villarreal have now opened talks over signing him as well. [Calciomercato]

Hope he’s fine

Llorente is still on Leeds’ books but that does not seem to be the case for too long with a summer exit very much on the cards for him.

There are a number of clubs vying for his services so it could become an interesting bidding war for the Spaniard in the coming weeks and months.

As of now, surely, his focus will be on getting back to his best as he was seen in tears during the 3-1 loss on Monday, 24 April.

Players usually go through so many injuries that they often become desensitised to it, but it seems like this one was too much to take.

Hopefully, he gets fine soon and as of now one can only wait for the results and Roma too will be eagerly waiting for the outcome.

They’re in a top four battle and also in with a real chance of winning the Europa League and Jose Mourinho clearly is an admirer of the Spanish defender.

In other Leeds United news, a Whites player has a potential offer on the table and could seal his permanent Elland Road exit this summer.
