Leeds United ‘deep discussions’ to take place amid Sam Allardyce Elland Road update – Sky Sports pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has predicted “deep” discussions to take place at Leeds United at the end of the 2022/23 season with Sam Allardyce set to take charge at Elland Road.
BBC Sport claim (1 May) the former England manager is set to replace Javi Gracia for the final four matches of the campaign.
Despite Allardyce closing in on the job, Robinson feels there will be plenty of discussions within the boardroom come the end of the season.

“I would give him the job on a longer-term basis but whether he wants it or not is another thing,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“I think things will be reassessed at the end of the season, there won’t be any kind of guarantees given, it will be a conversation. Let’s sit down at the end of the season.

“You can’t talk about what happens next year. It’s the same as you can’t talk about transfers as you don’t know about budgets. So you can’t talk about a manager as you don’t know what type of manager you’re going to need.
“Certain players, if the club is in the Championship, will leave. It will need restructuring, it’s a similar story in the Premier League, as it hasn’t been good enough this year.
“There needs to be a deep discussion at the end of the season because regardless of what league they’re in, I don’t think Allardyce is a bad answer for either.”
