Leeds United: Darko Gyabi speaks out as official Elland Road announcement made

Leeds United midfielder Darko Gyabi has shared a message on social media after being ruled out until the end of the season after undergoing groin surgery.

The Whites confirmed on Wednesday (27 March) that the 20-year-old, who has been on loan at Plymouth Argyle, will miss the remainder of the campaign alongside defender Pascal Struijk and they will both undergo their rehabilitation at Thorp Arch.

The England U-20 international posted a picture of himself in an Argyle shirt on Instagram on Wednesday as he shared how much of an “honour” it’s been to play for the “amazing” Championship club at Home Park.

Leeds United ace Darko Gyabi disappointed by injury blow

It’s clearly come as a great disappointment for Gyabi to have his loan spell with Plymouth cut short through injury after joining them in the January transfer window.

The midfielder headed to Devon in pursuit of first-team football and that is precisely what he’s got over the past couple of months, making 10 appearances for the club.

While it’s a shame he won’t be able to complete the season with Argyle, he will have learned plenty during the past few weeks that he can look to take forward with him.

The Englishman will now be focusing on getting himself fit as quickly as possible before pre-season when a decision will be made on his future at Elland Road.

There is a good chance he’ll probably go out on loan again for the next campaign as he looks to continue his development and put himself in a position to be a future first-team player in West Yorkshire.
