Leeds United: Daniel Farke contract update emerges at Elland Road amid promotion push
Leeds United and Daniel Farke have not yet begun talks over a new contract with any extension likely to be discussed at the end of the season, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The outlet reported on its website on Thursday (15 February) that the German is unlikely to entertain a new contract before the end of the current campaign, with his focus directed at winning promotion back to the Premier League.
Suggestions had emerged that the Whites were already in talks over Farke’s future at Elland Road and while those in charge at Leeds are impressed with his work, such speculation that negotiations have already begun remains premature at this stage.
Is Daniel Farke signing a new contract at Leeds United?
Leeds United are currently in the midst of an incredible unbeaten run in all competitions and it is understandable that both supporters and those in charge at Elland Road would be keen to tie their manager down to a new deal.
But the Whites don’t have to rush to secure Farke’s future, especially when so much is yet to be decided this season. At the moment, Leeds don’t have any idea which division they’ll be playing in next year or what their squad could look like come September.

It would be slightly rash for the Whites to hand the German a new deal because of a recent strong run of form, especially when it was only a few months ago some pundits and supporters had their doubts over Farke’s credentials outside of the Championship.
Both parties can begin negotiations come the end of the season once the future is a bit clearer for all sides and then a deal can be reached. With Farke contracted until the summer of 2027, the Whites have plenty of time to get their house in order.
