Leeds squad left disrespected by criticism, defender opens up on pundits writing Whites off

Leeds United defender Stuart Dallas has claimed that the Whites felt disrespected by outside comments about their form recently.

The Whites returned to the top of the Championship table after the 2-0 win over Huddersfield made it five on the bounce as West Brom failed to win yet again.

Dallas admitted that the squad were determined to put a run together after pundits had somewhat written them off over the New Year period.

When asked how the fortunes of Leeds had changed, Dallas immediately brought up the outside comments at Elland Road.

“It’s hard to pinpoint one thing but I think there was a lot of disrespectful stuff said about us,” he told LUTV.

“Towards us, in the press, there was a lot of pundits writing us off and rightly so because the performances weren’t good enough in that run.”

Whatever was said certainly worked though, as Leeds have looked unstoppable in the past month or so with only nine games left to play.

It was revealed that Marcelo Bielsa also delivered an inspiring talk to the squad after the Nottingham Forest defeat last month and that definitely seems to have given the Whites a second wind in the Championship.

Dallas is the first player to come out and hit back at the critics, and the performance on Saturday certainly justified that as Leeds proved they’re the favourites to lift the title after another great win.
