Leeds United could test waters with approach for Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou

Leeds United could reportedly test the waters and make an approach for Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou in the coming days.

According to the Scottish Sun [8 February], the Australian-Greek manager is on the shortlist and an early favourite for the Leeds post.

The Elland Road chiefs are understood to be admirers of the 57-year-old and Andrea Radrizzani is keen on making a swift appointment.

Interesting choice

Postecoglou will come to Elland Road having won multiple senior trophies as a manager.

While most of his work has come in the Asia/Pacific region, one cannot discount the fact that he’s got 11 trophies to his name.

He’s already won two trophies including a league title since he joined Celtic last summer and it remains to be seen if he’s willing to jump ship.

We’ve seen the likes of Brendan Rodgers and Steven Gerrard leaving top SPFL teams in the recent past to work at Premier League clubs that find themselves on the wrong side of the table.

It will be a challenge that’s for sure and he needs to ask himself if he’s worth it before making the decision to move to Elland Road.

As Jesse Marsch will have realised, the Leeds job is not one for the faint hearted and if the hierarchy does approach Postecoglou, he needs to be ready for the challenge of his career.
