Leeds United could sign Sasa Lukic for less than £15m in January transfer window

Leeds United could sign Manchester United-linked Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic for a relative pittance in the January transfer window.

According to Tuttomercato Web [December 23], the Serbia international is available for as little as £13.2million over the winter.

Torino have suffered a potentially huge windfall in the case of Andrea Belotti in the past and in order to not let that happen with other players, they could cash in on them when their stock is at a high.

Torino Granata [1 December] reported that Leeds, Manchester United and Roma were interested in signing the 26-year-old.

However, the source above now mentions a further club keen on his services with Champions League outfit Napoli in the race for his signature.

If Leeds are to jump ahead of the queue, director of football Victor Orta needs to begin discussions with the player’s representatives as soon as possible.

There is a chance that moves to Manchester United and Napoli will be more lucrative for the player based on more money and Champions League football respectively.

However, if he does feel that they’re not particularly keen on signing him and sees Leeds at the table for him, he could be convinced of moving to Elland Road.

Mateusz Klich appears to be on his way out of the club and replacing him would be a priority sooner rather than later.

If they’re getting Lukic for what seems to be a pretty good fee, they should explore the option of bringing him to the club.

In other Leeds United news, a headline-making player who is linked with a move to Elland Road desperately wants a Premier League transfer in January.
