Leeds United could pocket £190,000 with FA Cup win v Cardiff
Leeds United could pocket £190,000 should they beat Cardiff City and progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup, as reported by Leeds Live.
The Whites’ trip to the Bluebirds has been selected for TV coverage on Sunday 8 January, with the Yorkshire side set to receive a broadcast fee of £85,000.
Should Jesse Marsch’s men progress to the fourth round for the first time in five years they will receive a further £105,000.

Leeds Live (3 December) suggest any further funds will be greatly appreciated at Elland Road with a busy January window “expected” to take place in West Yorkshire.
Cup run
A cup run for Leeds is needed. It’s been far too long since the Elland Road faithful experienced anything but misery in the FA Cup, and realistically, it’s an excellent opportunity for a potential day out at Wembley.
Furthermore, considering the cup competitions are the Whites’ most likely source of success, it’s crucial that Marsch plays a strong side against the Bluebirds.
If the American makes too many changes there’s every chance Leeds could well come unstuck in South Wales at the start of January. Cardiff will be relishing the Premier League test and the chance to take a relatively big scalp.

With a busy January approaching, a six-figure sum coming into the club will always be welcome. It may not seem like a lot to a Premier League club, but it could well be the small difference between winning the race for a transfer target or missing out.
Fans will be hoping for a busy January with a left-back and a striker very much on the agenda for Victor Orta and Marsch.
In other Leeds United news, we can exclusively reveal that a takeover by the 49ers could be done within weeks.
