Leeds United could make Manchester United midfielder James Garner top target this summer

Manchester United midfielder James Garner could be of the top targets this summer for Leeds United, according to LeedsLive.

The report claims that should the Whites avoid relegation from the Premier League, they could prioritise a move for the English midfielder.

The 21-year-old is at Nottingham Forest where he is impressing a lot of people but is unlikely to stay there as he sees himself as a top-flight player.

Good move

Garner is a blossoming young talent waiting to make that step up in his career.

He has been hyped a lot in the circles at Old Trafford and now the time may have arrived for him to prove his mettle.

While the Championship is easier to play it’s certainly not a gimme for every young player to succeed.

So many have failed after few good months, but something about Garner tells us he’s got the bottle to stand up against adversity.

He’s predominantly a deep-lying midfielder but can also play as a box-to-box one who can run constantly from start to end.

He clearly has an engine on him and can fit in perfectly in Jesse Marsch’s system.

Speaking about the youngster in January 2020, Man United midfielder Fred said, via the Express, “Who impresses me most is James Garner. Not because he is in the same position as me, but he is a player who has an impressive vision of the game, has a huge future for United.

“In addition to the impressive game vision, he always plays with his head up, has an impressive shot, an incredible pass. He is a player that I admire a lot.”

These are talents Leeds could very well do with and Garner must be close to their priorities this summer.

In other Leeds United news, a first-team regular has turned down a new Elland Road contract and will sign it only under one condition.
