Leeds United could consider January move for West Ham defender Harrison Ashby

Harrison Ashby reportedly seems frozen out at West Ham which could play right into the hands of Leeds United and Newcastle.

According to West Ham insiders Six Foot Two, there is speculation that the 20-year-old may be punished at the club for failing to sign a new contract.

He wanted out in the summer and Newcastle were believed to be the club closest to securing his services.

However, West Ham did not sanction his £2.5million exit and he ended up staying put at the London Stadium.

Not seen as a part of the senior side, Ashby is one of the prominent youngsters at the club but he now appears to be frozen out.

He is not being picked for the Premier League 2 matches despite being fully fit and no word from the club about any injury or personal concerns.

The chances are that he’s being told to sign a new deal and not play until he does.

This chaos will only bring down his price and we will not be surprised if Victor Orta makes another attempt to secure the player’s services in January.

He will not cost too much either and will certainly be a good first-team option for the future so it’s an investment that’s worth making.
