Leeds United could bid over £22m to sign Hakan Calhanoglu from Inter Milan
Leeds United are in the hunt to sign Inter Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu and could bid over £22m this summer, according to Interlive.it.
The 29-year-old who has built up a huge reputation for his set-piece abilities is coming to the final year of his contract at Inter which runs out in June 2024 and the Serie A club may be tempted to sell the star this summer to avoid losing him for nothing.
Spanish outlet fichajes.net reported on 26 February that the Serie A champions have slapped a price tag of around £22m on the Turkish maestro.

“Some mid-range companies like Leeds now fighting against relegation, or high-end companies like Newcastle United who are battling for the Champions League could give a little thought. Clubs of this type could put proposals worth around €25m-€30m (£22m) on the table,” as quoted by Interlive.it, a site affiliated with Italian outlet Calciomercato [4 March].
Very ambitious
The midfielder has been an important cog in the Inter machine this season, with three goals and six assists in 30 games played in Serie A and the Champions League.
Calhanoglu represents a sturdy addition for any Premier League this summer, considering his unique qualities in the final third, his engine in midfield and his expertness from dead-ball situations.

The Whites being interested in the Turkish star is incredibly ambitious on their part, considering the player’s superstar quality and ambitions to play Champions League football every season.
Leeds simply cannot offer that right now, and could well find themselves in the Championship next season if they don’t improve their form in the coming weeks.
However, if they manage to remain in the English top-flight, who’s to say Calhanoglu won’t reject the huge money offered?
