Leeds United could be week away from unwanted history as all eyes on Daniel Farke
Leeds United tend to struggle to score goals when they host Aston Villa at Elland Road.
Leeds were beaten 3-1 by Nottingham Forest last time out to make it four defeats in their past five Premier League matches.
That only increases the sack pressure on Daniel Farke ahead of next Sunday’s visit of Villa, who have been in great form of late.
Leeds are hopeful of having a full squad by the time that game comes around, and they will certainly need an improved showing from their attackers to avoid some unwanted history.
Leeds United without a goal in three home league games vs Aston Villa
Farke will be keeping a close eye on Leeds’ international contingent, knowing just how important the showdown with Villa is next weekend.
Villa enter the game on a high – albeit the two-week break may have curtailed their momentum – as they have recovered from a slow start to climb into sixth in the Premier League.
This is a fixture Leeds do not tend to do well in as, according to Opta data, Leeds have failed to score in each of their past three home league games against Villa.
They have never previously gone four without scoring against a single opponent at Elland Road, so a goal is needed next Sunday to prevent an unwanted first.
Meanwhile, only at Everton – an ongoing run of five – have Villa kept more clean sheets at a single stadium in the league.
Leeds behind only Wolves for struggling to convert chances
Leeds’ goalscoring issues are well known at this point. It is not through a lack of chances created that the Whites have struggled, but more so the lack of those taken.
Indeed, Leeds’ conversion rate of 5.3 per cent is the second-worst return in the Premier League behind bottom side Wolves (4.7 per cent).

Next on that list is Nottingham Forest (5.6 per cent), who successfully managed to put three goals past Leeds last week.
Then come Newcastle United (6.1 per cent) and Everton (7.1 per cent).
It goes without saying Farke needs to find an answer to that problem, or else he will surely pay with his job before long.
