Leeds United contract ‘wrangle’ emerges with ‘no deal in place’ for Luis Sinisterra with Bournemouth – Phil Hay
There is “no deal in place with Bournemouth” for Luis Sinisterra to leave Leeds United so far with the club “very keen to keep” him, according to Phil Hay.
The Athletic journalist reported via Twitter on Friday (1 September) that there is a “wrangle” over the Colombian winger’s contract at Elland Road while he “sees himself at a higher level” than the Championship, and although nothing is currently in place the “next few hours will be telling”.
Fabrizio Romano had reported shortly before that a “verbal agreement” had been reached to send the 24-year-old on loan to the Cherries, even giving the deal a “here we go”.
But the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Graham Smyth also reported the fact that an agreement hadn’t been reached, and added that there is wide interest from both the Premier League and aboard for Sinisterra on deadline day.
False alarm
The deadline day gymnastics have well and truly begun with Sinisterra having said himself that he was staying when leaving the training ground earlier in the day [LUFCFANZONE, 1 September].
There is no surprise that he is a coveted player in the final hours, and until that deadline finally passes it is hard to rule out any of the Whites stars potentially still leaving.
But if it is a loan to Bournemouth that is in question rather than a big-money sale it suggests that the winger, and the Premier League club, feel his release clause may still be live, despite wide suggestions that all of them had expired.

This could be the second dispute along those lines with the same club after Bournemouth ended up buying Tyler Adams for more than his £20million exit clause following a disagreement over whether it had been triggered in time [The Athletic, 20 August].
It is surely going to be difficult for this deal to get done in time if there is an argument over the legal terms in the contract.
But there are hours left before the 11pm deadline and everything moves so fast in the final hours it is impossible to fully discount anything, but given his quality it would be a blow to lose him this late.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are set for a final day transfer “risk” after a target snubbed them just a day earlier.
