Leeds United contract clauses emerge as Joel Robles talks continue – Sky Sports pundit

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Paul Robinson suspects Joel Robles and Adam Forshaw’s contract negotiations at Leeds United to be centred around gametime.

The pair were released from their current deals at Elland Road but  Sky Sports reported on 13 June that the pair remain in talks over agreeing new terms.

Despite talks ongoing Robinson believes there will be certain stipulations added into both their deals if they do renew at Elland Road.

“I suspect the contract negotiations will be around gametime and games played,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“I would certainly keep both Forshaw and Robles. I think he’s done really well since he’s come into the side.

“I for one was sceptical having not played a lot of football and given a lot of opportunity. If you look back at his career he’s been a number two for the majority of it. He’s not played that many games. He came in a played really well towards the end.

“They were a leaking damn. Didn’t he make a huge difference? No, but he gave Meslier a break when he was at a low point. I can see Meslier moving on and I think Robles will be a good option for Leeds.”

In other Leeds United news, a comprehensive transfer update appears to have ended the chances of the club losing an “absolutely fantastic” talent to an imminent bid.
