Leeds United consider two other managers bar ex Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder
Leeds United are reportedly considering two other managers even though Alfred Schreuder was at Elland Road for the Manchester United game.
According to LeedsLive journalist Beren Cross, the Whites insist that talks with the former Ajax boss are still at a very nascent stage.
Despite Andoni Iraola, Arne Slot and Marcelo Gallardo being out of the running for now, Leeds have two other names on their shortlist.
Via Twitter, Cross wrote, “Andoni Iraola talks stymied by his boss in Spain, Arne Slot’s ruled himself out and Marcelo Gallardo wants a break until the summer.
“A couple of other names on the list, in work, but as Angus Kinnear said today, they are aware of the need for a prompt appointment.”
Right strategy
Leeds cannot afford to have just one manager in the running for the Elland Road hot seat as that will not be an ideal interview process.
The point of going through rounds of interviews is to gauge who the ideal candidate will be before giving him the job.
With no competition, the Leeds hierarchy will have nobody to compare Schreuder to and he will be handed the reins just because he’s the only one they’ve spoken to.

We’re unsure who the other names are but the likes of Ange Postecoglou and Steven Gerrard have been mentioned of late and could be under consideration.
While Gerrard recently failed at Aston Villa, he impressed a great deal at Rangers and Postecoglou is doing the same thing in the SPFL with Celtic.
His stock is currently on the rise and the least Leeds can do is at least make an approach to see whether or not he’s interested in taking over.
