Leeds United consider Scott Parker as heavy investment mooted at Elland Road
Former Bournemouth manager Scott Parker is being considered by Leeds United as Angus Kinnear conducts the managerial search at Elland Road, according to The Telegraph.
The Telegraph report on Friday 2 June, that Parker, along with Carlos Corberan and Steven Gerrard are being considered by the board.
It’s believed one “huge” plus for Parker is that he has gained promotion on the last two occasions he has managed in the second tier.

However, it’s understood the profile of manager could change depending on the ownership with the 49ers set to invest heavily if they complete a deal.
Interesting
This is certainly an interesting one for the board to consider. Parker has been extremely successful during his previous stints in the Championship when backed properly. He clearly knows how to get a team out of the second tier. It would divide the fan base. He hasn’t been able to cut it in the Premier League, but should that be a concern at present?
The immediate focus has to be on getting Leeds back into the top flight as soon as possible. Giving Parker the job and backing him during the summer window would be the percentage play by the board. There’s a good chance he would put together a team who could compete at the top of the table.

If the 49ers do push through with their potential takeover, then money will be available. Parker needs certain things to be in place to succeed, but with some financial clout behind him, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be able to steer Leeds back into the top flight.
