Leeds United consider Carlos Carvalhal to take vacant managerial role at Elland Road
Leeds United are considering Carlos Carvalhal as a potential candidate to take the vacant managerial position at Elland Road, according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon.
The club confirmed Sam Allardyce’s departure on Friday after a four-game stint which produced three defeats and just one solitary point.
The Telegraph reported on 2 June that Scott Parker, Carlos Corberan and Steven Gerrard are being considered by the board.

Nixon has since revealed on his personal Patreon (4 June), that Carvalhal is also on Leeds’ radar after his impressive job at Yorkshire rivals, Sheffield Wednesday.

The Portuguese boss has lost his touch. He undertook a decent job at Hillsborough, but appointing Carvalhal just feels too similar to what has gone before. Javi Gracia was a successful foreign Championship manager but failed miserably at Elland Road.
Leeds need someone who is capable in the second tier. Someone who has experience of getting a side out of the Championship. Scott Parker is a name that will divide opinion, but he has managed to secure promotion twice.

One thing we can all agree on is that an appointment is needed fast. The longer the board wait to make a decision the more of an impact it will have on the preparations for the 2023/24 season. The second tier will be the toughest it’s been in years.
Leeds’ rivals have already started their preparations. It’s essential the Whites are left behind. Communication from the board is required to keep the fanbase on side.
