Luke Ayling nowhere to be seen, two changes – Leeds United confirmed XI v Swansea City

Daniel Farke has named his Leeds United XI as Swansea City visit Elland Road on Wednesday night (29 November) in the EFL Championship.

Pascal Struijk, who replaces Liam Cooper, is fit enough to start, pairing with Joe Rodon in defence. Sam Byram replaces Junior Firpo after an average outing against Rotherham United, while fellow full-back Luke Ayling does not feature in the squad.

Ethan Amapdu and Glen Kamara continue to dictate midfield, while a familiar attacking unit in Dan James, Crycensio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Joel Piroe lead the line.

Piroe is facing his former side for the first time, as is Rodon, who graduated from Swansea’s academy.

Leeds took to Twitter to share their lineup for the game.

Keeping up the pace

Following a frustrating 1-1 draw with Rotherham United at the weekend, the Whites will be hoping to get back to winning ways as they continue to chase down the league leaders.

A victory against the Swans would see Leeds leapfrog West Bromwich Albion into third place, closing the gap on Ipswich Town to just five points and seven points short of Leicester City.

Tonight’s fixture promises a close affair, with the last three meetings being separated by one goal. But if recent form is anything to go by, Farke’s men should come into the game with much more confidence.

Leeds have won three and drawn one of their last five, including a massive 1-0 win over league leaders Leicester. Swansea have won just once, with stalemates against Hull City and Sunderland.

If there is any way of rectifying a draw against the Millers, who are second from bottom in the Championship, is to beat Swansea comfortably and re-continue their fine form from before.

In other Leeds United news, a Whites player is surely set for a January exit after the latest Farke snub.
