Leeds United confirmed XI v Leicester City: Rasmus Kristensen axed, Patrick Bamford returns

Leeds United have confirmed their starting XI for their Premier League clash against Leicester City at Elland Road on Tuesday evening.

Javi Gracia has made four changes to the team which lost 2-1 to Fulham on Saturday, with summer signing Rasmus Kristensen being replaced by Luke Ayling.

Junior Firpo also returns in place of Max Wober, who misses out on the matchday squad. Luis Sinisterra has also come into the lineup in place of Crysencio Summerville. The final change sees Brenden Aaronson replaced by Patrick Bamford.

Huge

Tuesday’s fixture is absolutely massive for Leeds’ survival hopes. A fourth defeat on the spin would leave Gracia’s side staring down the barrel and firmly at the Championship. Leicester are coming off of an impressive win over Wolverhampton Wanderers and will be looking to catch the home side on the counterattack.

Something has to change. Leeds have been completely toothless going forward in recent weeks, which could be because of their terrible defensive record. It felt as if the players were scared of another mauling repeating itself against Fulham.

Instead, the fixture at Craven Cottage was more a case of the players keeping the score down, as opposed to winning the game. Unfortunately, it’s got to the stage where wins are now a requirement, especially at home. With some tough fixtures to come, Leeds need to start putting points on the board, starting against the Foxes on Tuesday evening (25 April).
