Leeds United confirm their starting XI against Southampton

Leeds United have confirmed their starting XI for this afternoon’s game against Southampton in the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa has made three changes from the side that beat Watford last time out before the international break.

Illan Meslier starts in goal, and he is protected by an unchanged back four consisting of Jamie Shackleton, Liam Cooper, Diego Llorente, and Stuart Dallas.

In front of them is Pascal Struijk and Mateusz Klich. Raphinha had an incredible international break hasn’t made it so Jack Harrison takes his place and Dan James is on the other wing.

Tyler Roberts also gets a start. Rodrigo once more continues upfront, with Patrick Bamford unavailable.

Strong team from Bielsa.

This is arguably very far to the Whites’ strongest team, but you would think they feel confident about sealing another win and building on the Watford game.

However, if things start to go wrong, the Argentine can call on Sam Greenwood, and Joe Gelhardt.

So, there is plenty of creativity just sitting there if the Whites need it.

However, we can imagine that they will be full of confidence after beating Watford before the international break, and we expect them to build on that performance with a win here on the south coast.

The Saints haven’t won a league game this season and could see this as their chance to finally get that three points, but looking at Bielsa’s team, we can’t see anything other than a Leeds win.

We can’t wait for this one to get started.

In other Leeds United news, Leif Davis could be recalled by the Whites in January.
