Stan Collymore predicts scoreline of Leeds United showdown v Southampton

TalkSport pundit Stan Collymore has predicted that the Leeds United showdown against Southampton will end in a 1-1 draw in the Premier League.

The Saturday afternoon clash on 25 February will be Javi Gracia’s first game in charge of the Whites in what promises to be a nervy affair for both teams.

Collymore confessed that he is “all over it” with his 1-1 prediction, pointing to Leeds’ poor scoring form as the reason behind that with three points desperately needed.

“Leeds have only scored once, one or more since January,” said Collymore live on TalkSPORT. (24 February)

“1-1, all over it.”

Time will tell.

Gracia was evidently appointed off the back of the panic that occurred following the damning defeat to Everton and maybe this is a good thing for Leeds United.

Every fan wanted Michael Skubala to succeed but being thrust into the hot seat with no top-flight experience was a recipe for disaster and that’s nothing against him.

The whole process since the sacking of Jesse Marsch has been a shambles and Leeds United well and truly provided the blueprint of how not to go about business in their new manager search.

Nevertheless, Gracia comes with a fairly decent Premier League pedigree, having guided Watford to an 11th-placed finish and FA Cup final.

And the Elland Road faithful will be praying that he can do a similar job with this extremely exciting squad, one that has nowhere near seen its full potential reached.

A new era under Gracia has the potential to get off to a flyer against Southampton.

Let’s go.
