Leeds United: Cody Drameh could pursue loan move after Ramsus Kristensen signing

Cody Drameh could be ready to pursue a loan move away from Leeds United after the Whites signed Rasmus Kristensen, according to The Mirror.

Jesse Marsch raided his former club, RB Salzburg, for the second time in the summer transfer window to bring Kristensen to Elland Road having already purchased United States international Brenden Aaronson from the Austrian champions.

Drameh had already forced a loan move away from Yorkshire in the 2022 January transfer window as Marcelo Bielsa couldn’t assure him of game time which saw Championship side Cardiff City take him to Wales.

He performed well in the second tier and hoped that he would have impressed Marsch enough to warrant a starting place at Leeds United but Kristensen’s addition in his position makes that unlikely.

A return to the Championship now looks more and more likely for the 20-year-old although it doesn’t appear that the Welsh capital will be his destination this time around.

Admirable

For a player who is still so young, you have to admire Drameh’s reluctance to stay quiet when he doesn’t agree with a decision about his future.

We saw how adamant he was that he wanted to leave the club on loan in January and even the famously-stubborn Bielsa couldn’t keep him in LS11 and Marsch may be about to see the same happen to him.

You can’t blame him either for getting just a little frustrated at being the last resort at right-back after performing well for the Leeds youth sides and then showing himself to be more than capable at Premier League level when he was required to play due to injuries.

There is an argument to suggest that Kristensen was not a signing we needed to make at all with Drameh and Luke Ayling already covering that position with ease and Stuart Dallas able to provide some emergency cover if required.

This could well be the last chance we get to loan Drameh out because we can’t guarantee his game time; soon enough he will be asking to leave for goo and we do not want that to happen.

In other Leeds United news, Kalvin Phillips’ potential replacement is now up for sale at his current club to give Marsch the green light to make an approach.
